Paul Thomas Anderson film to premiere at New York Film Festival

Paul Thomas Anderson’s music documentary, ‘Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall’, will have its world premiere at the 64th New York Film Festival. The film is scheduled to debut on October 1 at Alice Tully Hall, presented in 35mm with both the director and performer Cameron Winter in attendance.

The documentary captures Winter’s performance at Carnegie Hall on December 11, 2025. Shot on 16mm and 35mm, the film depicts the Brooklyn-based artist, known as the frontman of the band Geese, performing a stripped-down set on a Steinway grand piano.

Janus Films and Criterion have acquired the film, which is slated for a theatrical rollout beginning November 20. The 64th New York Film Festival is set to run from September 25 through October 12, 2026.
