Paul Thomas Anderson selects next film project

Filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson has reportedly selected his next narrative feature project, according to his longtime collaborator and composer Jonny Greenwood. In an interview with Screen Daily, Greenwood indicated that Anderson is “getting close to pressing the button on the next film” and appears to be gaining momentum.

Greenwood revealed that he has already begun learning a new instrument that will play a central role in the film's score. While the specific details of the upcoming project have not been officially confirmed, speculation continues regarding a long-rumored 1940s jazz-themed film set in the African-American arts community of Los Angeles. Although actors Denzel Washington and Tiffany Haddish have been previously linked to such a project, their involvement remains unconfirmed.
