Paul Tungwarara denies medical airlift rumors during South Africa trip
Paul Tungwarara, a presidential adviser to Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has denied reports that he was airlifted to South Africa for emergency medical treatment.
Speculation had circulated online suggesting that Tungwarara, who serves as the Special Adviser on Investment and Empowerment, had suffered a heart-related complication, specifically angina. Some reports claimed he was flown out of Zimbabwe around midnight to receive urgent care.
Tungwarara addressed these claims via a video posted to social media, where he appeared to be walking near a pond. He stated that his trip to South Africa was for business purposes rather than health reasons, writing, “Yes, I was airlifted to South Africa for my business errands, not because I’m sick!” He encouraged others to focus on productive activities instead of spreading falsehoods.
