Wight also addressed the recent controversy involving Avery Styles and the concept of young wrestlers having to ‘pay their dues.’ He criticized the practice, stating that it is often used by veterans as a way to ‘intimidate and bully’ younger talent. He argued that as long as newcomers show respect and a good attitude, they should not be punished for their athleticism or the opportunities they receive.

In response to Wight’s stance, former NXT UK wrestler Sam Gradwell criticized Wight’s past behavior, alleging he was intimidating toward tryout talent during his time with WWE. Additionally, Wight discussed the competitive landscape between AEW and WWE, noting that AEW is still building its global presence and faces logistical challenges due to WWE’s long-standing market dominance.
