Paula Blasi to join Movistar Team through 2029
Cyclist Paula Blasi is reportedly set to join the Movistar Team on a three-year contract running through 2029. The 23-year-old, a winner of La Vuelta Femenina, will leave UAE Team L’IMAD following the conclusion of the 2026 season.
To secure the transfer, Movistar reportedly paid a €100,000 release clause to UAE Team L’IMAD, as Blasi was originally under contract through 2027. The deal also involved reaching an amicable agreement with Lidl-Trek, with whom Blasi had a prior pre-agreement. Reports suggest Blasi will earn an annual salary of approximately €500,000.
Blasi, represented by agent Alex Carera, has had a breakout year with victories at La Vuelta Femenina, Amstel Gold Race, and the Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées. An official announcement from Movistar is expected to coincide with the upcoming World Championships in Montreal.
