Paula Echevarría marks 49th birthday in mourning after father's death

Spanish actress Paula Echevarría turned 49 on 7 August, but the celebration was subdued following the death of her father, Luis Ángel Echevarría, who passed away on 30 July at age 76. She spent the day with her mother, siblings, children and partner Miguel Torres, forgoing the usual public festivities in Marbella and Starlite.

The funeral was held at the church of San Félix in Candás, where Torres helped carry the coffin and stayed by her side. Torres later posted a heartfelt Instagram message and stories wishing her peace, strength and many smiles for the coming year. Echevarría also shared a reflective letter about the loss and the significance of the birthday amid grief.
