Paula Fernandes marks 30-year career with new project and acting ambitions

Brazilian sertanejo singer Paula Fernandes is launching a new audiovisual project titled ‘30 & Poucos Anos’ to mark three decades of her career. The project features new interpretations of classic songs and unreleased tracks. The lead single, ‘Era Eu’, was released on August 13 and serves as a reflection on her journey from starting to sing at age eight to her current professional status.

In addition to her musical milestones, Fernandes expressed interest in expanding her acting career. Having previously appeared in telenovelas such as ‘Deus Salve o Rei’ and ‘Coração Acelerado’, she stated a desire to move away from playing virtuous characters to portraying a villain.

Fernandes also reflected on her role in the sertanejo industry, noting the challenges women face in a male-dominated system. She credited her experience with helping to pave the way for the ‘feminejo’ movement, while acknowledging the pioneers who preceded her.
