Paulette Thomas resigns from Vamos Coalition

Panamanian Deputy Paulette Thomas has announced her irrevocable resignation from the Vamos Coalition. The decision follows her suspension from the party bloc in July following a request by coalition president Juan Diego Vásquez.

Thomas cited a lack of due process and communication from the coalition's Board of Directors and Ethics Committee as primary reasons for her departure. She noted that according to Article 9 of the coalition's Code of Ethics, a 15-day period for a preliminary investigation had passed without her being summoned to present her version of events. Thomas described the situation as a lack of respect for her dignity and integrity.

Following her resignation, Thomas stated she will continue to serve in the National Assembly as an independent deputy. The departure leaves the Vamos Coalition with 14 deputies.
