Paulina Rubio sued by designer Michael Costello over unpaid Coachella dresses

Designer Michael Costello has filed a lawsuit against Mexican singer Paulina Rubio, claiming she has not paid for two custom gowns created for her Coachella 2026 performance with Spanish band Morat. Costello said he was contacted only days before the show, traveled to take measurements, and worked under tight deadlines to deliver the outfits, including a silver, word‑cut dress and a structured corset ensemble. He alleges Rubio demanded last‑minute changes, treated him disrespectfully, and still owes the agreed $4,000 fee. The dispute, publicized on social media and television, highlights tensions between high‑profile artists and fashion houses over payment and professional conduct.

Costello, who has dressed celebrities such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, described the experience as “very complicated” and emphasized that the dresses were used at the festival. Rubio has not yet responded publicly to the legal claim.
