Pauline Ducruet advances fashion career and Grimaldi legacy
Pauline Ducruet, the 32-year-old daughter of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, is establishing herself as a designer focused on sustainability and gender diversity. After studying at the Istituto Marangoni in Paris, she has launched her own unisex ecological clothing brand, Alter Designs.
In a tribute to her mother’s fashion legacy, Ducruet recently relaunched the iconic ‘Le V’ swimsuit, a design originally created by Stéphanie in 1986. The updated version, made from recycled materials, saw rapid commercial success. Ducruet has expressed a desire to be recognized for her own creative merits while acknowledging her place within the Grimaldi family.
Historical accounts regarding the Grimaldi family also highlight the complex dynamics between the sisters, Princess Stéphanie and Princess Caroline. Reports from the past suggest periods of estrangement between the two, with anecdotes indicating they occasionally avoided one another at social venues like the Monte Carlo Sporting Club.
