Pauline Ferrand-Prévot to miss Road World Championships in Montreal

French cyclist Pauline Ferrand-Prévot will not participate in the upcoming Road World Championships in Montreal. According to reports, the 34-year-old has not expressed interest in joining the French national selection, marking a significant absence for the team.

Ferrand-Prévot, who rides for Visma-Lease a Bike, has not competed since withdrawing from the Tour de France Femmes on August 8 due to illness and physical exhaustion. While she previously considered extending her season depending on her physical condition, she has not communicated a desire to compete to the French Cycling Federation.

Her absence is expected to shift focus to a new generation of French riders, such as Célia Géry. Although Ferrand-Prévot remains under contract until 2028 and maintains interest in future Olympic road titles, her 2026 season may conclude without further competition.
