Pauline Hanson avoids questions on controversial One Nation cartoons
Senator Pauline Hanson has declined to address criticism regarding One Nation's use of controversial cartoons and coloring books. The party recently distributed coloring books at the Mount Gambier show in South Australia featuring caricatures from Hanson’s ‘Please Explain’ series. One illustration depicts a crocodile holding a knife while robbing the character Bluey and a figure resembling Robert Irwin.
Other images in the series portray Energy Minister Chris Bowen as a cyborg and various politicians on a raft. Communications Minister Anika Wells has called for an explanation, questioning whether the content constitutes satire or something more. Additionally, the ABC has indicated it will issue a cease-and-desist letter to the party regarding a video that depicts the character Bluey ramming politicians with a car.
