Cruzeiro hires Paulinho and invites Rafael Sobis to football management

Cruzeiro has officially announced the hiring of former midfielder Paulinho to its football department. Following his departure from Mirassol, where he served as an executive, Paulinho joins the club to act as a strategic link between the squad, the coaching staff, and the board. His role is expected to involve participation in long-term planning for the 2027 season.

In addition to Paulinho's arrival, Cruzeiro president Pedro Lourenço has formally invited former striker Rafael Sobis to join the football management structure. The club aims to utilize the experience of these former athletes to strengthen the institutional connection within the professional squad. Negotiations with Sobis are expected to continue through late October, with a definitive response anticipated by January.

The restructuring of the football department follows a period where the club operated without a dedicated professional in a similar role after the departure of Paulo Pelaipe. The new management structure includes president Pedro Lourenço, vice-president Pedro Junio, football director Bruno Spindel, and sports director Joaquim Pinto.
