Paulo Andrade apologizes for delayed narration of Piu's world record

Globo commentator Paulo Andrade admitted to a delay in announcing Alison dos Santos’s world record during the Diamond League in Zurich. Andrade expressed regret over the lapse, noting that he took several seconds to realize the Brazilian athlete had set a new historical mark in the 400m hurdles.

Andrade explained that the delay was partly due to limited preparation time, as he had broadcast a football match between Palmeiras and Santos the previous night. He had been focusing his narration on the rivalry between dos Santos and Olympic champion Karsten Warholm, rather than anticipating a record-breaking performance.
