Paulo Costa criticizes UFC over fight bookings and drug test recognition

UFC light heavyweight contender Paulo Costa has publicly expressed frustration with the promotion regarding fight bookings and recognition for his drug testing record. Costa requested a milestone jacket from the UFC, noting he has passed approximately 200 drug tests without a violation. He made the demand on social media after seeing Arman Tsarukyan receive a jacket for 50 clean tests.

In addition to the request for recognition, Costa criticized UFC executive Hunter Campbell on social media. Costa claimed that Campbell has been unable to secure him a standard three-round fight, alleging that the executive suggested no available opponents might be found until next year. Costa also stated he would not accept a five-round fight for the pay of a three-round bout.

Costa, currently ranked #4 in the light heavyweight division, is entering the final fight of his current UFC contract. While he has never tested positive for banned substances, he previously served a six-month suspension in 2019 for improper IV rehydration use.
