Paulo Costa criticizes UFC over lack of fight bookings
UFC light heavyweight contender Paulo Costa has expressed frustration regarding his lack of upcoming fight bookings. Costa, who last competed in April with a knockout victory over Azamat Murzakanov, stated on social media that he has received no communication from the promotion. He indicated that while he remains committed to fighting before the end of 2025, he may seek opportunities to compete at other events if the UFC does not provide a matchup.
Costa previously mentioned having one fight remaining on his contract. He has expressed interest in competing in five-round bouts at light heavyweight, provided his purse is adjusted accordingly. He also claimed to have requested a release from his contract, which the UFC reportedly refused.
UFC President Dana White responded to the claims, stating that Costa has been offered fights which he subsequently turned down. White noted that fighters typically receive approximately three fight offers per year.
