Father and son musicians Paulo de Carvalho (79) and Agir (38) will appear on national television as their April 2024 concert at Lisbon’s Coliseu dos Recreios is aired on RTP1 on Friday, 17 July, from 22:30 to 01:15. The performance, titled “Bernardo & Manuel Paulo,” showcased a rare collaboration that highlighted the duo’s complementary musical legacies.

Paulo de Carvalho, a former member of the 1960s band Sheiks and Portugal’s 1974 Eurovision representative with “E Depois do Adeus,” is celebrated for classics such as “Os Meninos de Huambo” and “Nini dos Meus Quinze Anos.” Agir, a leading figure in contemporary Portuguese pop, is known for hits like “Como Ela é Bela” and “Manto de Água.” The televised event offers viewers a chance to witness the intergenerational dialogue that has shaped Portuguese popular culture.

The broadcast was promoted by the concert organizers as an opportunity for the public to experience the emotional resonance of the live show without leaving home.
