Paulo Henrique Costa: Former BRB president's weapons seized by Federal Police

The Brazilian Federal Police seized 24 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition during a raid on the apartment of Paulo Henrique Costa, the former president of Banco de Brasília (BRB). The operation, known as the fourth phase of ‘Operação Compliance Zero’, took place on April 16.

The seized arsenal included rifles from brands such as Sig Sauer, Taurus, and Rossi, as well as pistols from Glock, Colt, and Imbel, and shotguns. Authorities also confiscated a Volkswagen T-Cross, an iPhone, an iPad, and various computers. The Federal Police noted that Costa’s status as a registered Collector, Marksman, and Hunter (CAC) had been factored into the safety risk assessment for the officers involved.

Costa is currently held in preventive detention at the Papuda Penitentiary Complex following an order by Supreme Federal Court Minister André Mendonça. The investigation involves suspected corruption, money laundering, and criminal organization related to Banco Master and its former controller, Daniel Vorcaro. The details of the seizure were made public after Minister Mendonça lifted the secrecy surrounding the investigations.
