Paulo Mourão criticizes TO-404 highway conditions in Tocantins
During a political caravan through the Bico do Papagaio region in Tocantins, Senate candidate Paulo Mourão (PT) criticized the poor condition of the TO-404 highway between Araguatins and Augustinópolis. Mourão highlighted issues such as potholes, insufficient signage, and a lack of shoulders, noting that these conditions increase risks for drivers.
The campaign activities, held on the 21st and 22nd, included visits to Augustinópolis, Buriti do Tocantins, Praia Norte, and Araguatins. Mourão used the tour to advocate for the re-election of President Lula and the candidacy of Laurez Moreira (PSD) for the government of Tocantins. Other participating candidates included Coronel Silva Neto for vice-governor, Célio Moura and Vilela for federal deputy, and Professora Francinete for state deputy.
Mourão also promoted the federal ‘Programa Acredita’ to facilitate credit access for small entrepreneurs and highlighted federal investments in the region. Specifically, he cited the construction of the Hospital da Mulher e Maternidade de Araguatins, a project funded by the Novo PAC with over R$ 60 million in federal resources. The candidate emphasized the growth potential of family farming and tourism in the area.
