Argentina industrial sector faces labor unrest and layoffs

Multiple industrial sectors in Argentina are facing significant labor unrest and operational instability. In San Rafael, the Alisan SRL food processing plant has been paralyzed for three months due to a dispute between owners, leaving 35 employees without full wages or health insurance.

In Santiago del Estero, workers at the Pauny S.A. tractor component plant are demanding unpaid wages. While the company announced a partial payment of $250,000 to staff, the metalworkers' union (UOM) continues to push for job security amid declining sales.

In Concepción del Uruguay, Granja Tres Arroyos has confirmed 270 layoffs following a failed conciliation process. Local authorities report that approximately 930 workers are affected as the plant remains shut down, prompting calls for a joint intervention by national, provincial, and municipal governments.
