Pavati Plastics expands South African manufacturing capacity

Pavati Plastics Southern Africa has transitioned from a service-oriented business into a manufacturing enterprise specializing in extrusion, printing, and specialized packaging. The company is 100% black-owned and black-managed, with 51% black women ownership.

Supported by a R50 million matching grant from the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) through the Black Industrialists Scheme (BIS) in March 2021, the company focused on capital expansion and import replacement. This investment has allowed Pavati Plastics to build local manufacturing capacity for products such as pallet wrap, Zip Lock coin bags, cast polypropylene (CPP), and monoaxially oriented polypropylene (MOPP).
