Pavel Zacha faces uncertain future with Boston Bruins amid stalled contract talks

The future of Pavel Zacha with the Boston Bruins remains uncertain as contract extension negotiations have reportedly stalled. According to insider Pierre LeBrun, the Bruins and Zacha’s camp have not been close to an agreement regarding a new deal over the past three months.

Zacha is entering the final year of a four-year, $19 million contract and could become an unrestricted free agent after the season. While the Bruins have expressed long-term interest, reports suggest the team experienced ‘sticker shock’ in June regarding Zacha’s salary expectations. However, rising league-wide salaries may impact how those figures are perceived moving forward.

Zacha’s name surfaced during trade discussions between the Bruins and the Columbus Blue Jackets when Boston inquired about Kirill Marchenko. Ultimately, Columbus opted for a deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs involving Matthew Knies instead. Despite the lack of progress on an extension, Zacha remains a key versatile asset for the Bruins' lineup.
