Pavillon Keller landmark in Oisans Valley sold for renovation

The Pavillon Keller, an iconic architectural landmark in Livet-et-Gavet located in the Oisans Valley, has finally been sold. The 1,700 m2 building, constructed in 1912, had been on the market since 2008.

The property was purchased by a local entrepreneur who has committed to renovating the site. The sale, overseen by Lysi Immobilier, was finalized in July 2026 following an 18-month negotiation process. The building is widely recognized for its role as a filming location in Mathieu Kassovitz’s film ‘The Crimson Rivers’.

Originally built by industrialist Charles-Albert Keller to serve as a residence and office for his hydroelectric company, the structure features unique stilt architecture overlooking the Romanche. Despite its historical significance, the building has faced challenges including vandalism and squatting. The interior retains several heritage elements, including woodwork, stained glass, and marble, particularly on the top floor originally reserved for Keller.
