Pavlikeni honors 90th anniversary of opera singer Nikola Gyuzelev
The town of Pavlikeni is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the birth of world-renowned Bulgarian opera bass and artist Nikola Gyuzelev. To honor his legacy, the Pavlikeni Historical Museum, in partnership with the Nikola Gyuzelev Foundation and the Pavlikeni Municipality, hosted a special commemorative event.
During the celebration, the Nikola Gyuzelev Foundation donated three original paintings and two reproductions of famous portraits by the artist to the museum. The donation also included a set of books and a musical disc dedicated to his life and career. The museum will establish a permanent corner dedicated to the artist to allow future generations to explore his dual talents in music and visual arts.
A commemorative plaque featuring Gyuzelev’s likeness was officially unveiled on the facade of the Historical Museum. The event included an exhibition of his paintings, a film screening, and the presentation of a monograph. The celebration highlighted Gyuzelev’s journey from his birthplace in Pavlikeni to the prestigious opera stages of Europe.
