Pavlikeni to host concert honoring opera singer Nikola Gyuzelev

A concert titled ‘Portrait of a Voice – 90 Years of Nikola Gyuzelev’ will be held on October 16, 2026, at the ‘Brotherhood-1884’ community center in Pavlikeni. The event honors the 90th anniversary of the birth of the world-renowned Bulgarian opera bass.

The concert is part of a national project initiated by the Boris Hristov Foundation to preserve the legacy of the Maestro, who performed at prestigious venues such as La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, and Covent Garden. The program will feature prominent Bulgarian opera singers, including Boyko Tsvetanov, Stoyan Bonchev, Tsvetelina Vasileva, Krum Galabov, Boris Lukov, and Iva Yonova, with piano accompaniment by Viliana Valcheva and Alex Zagrafov. Adriana Gyuzeleva, the Maestro’s daughter, will serve as the evening's host.

Celebrations will conclude with a large jubilee gala concert on November 16, 2026, at the ‘Bulgaria’ Hall in the capital, featuring a symphony orchestra and additional soloists.
