Pavlos Marinakis criticizes opposition over Tempi judicial referral

Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis has criticized opposition parties, specifically PASOK, following the decision by the Judicial Council to refer former Deputy Minister Christos Triantopoulos to a special court regarding the Tempi train accident.

Marinakis expressed “absolute confidence” in the Greek judiciary, noting that the current development is an intermediate stage and that the presumption of innocence remains in effect until a final verdict is reached. He criticized the opposition for claiming political vindication, pointing out that they had previously criticized Triantopoulos for requesting to be judged by natural judges.

The spokesperson also dismissed attempts by the opposition to draw parallels between this case and previous political controversies, such as the OPEKEPE matter, accusing them of attempting to politically exploit the tragic accident.
