Pavlos Marinakis defends Greek policy toward Turkey

Greek government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis has defended the administration's foreign policy regarding Turkey, rejecting claims that the government is pursuing a conciliatory or “calm waters” approach. Marinakis asserted that the current strategy focuses on strengthening Greece's deterrent power, stating that the country is in its strongest position in decades in this regard.

Addressing critics, Marinakis used sharp rhetoric, labeling those who predict national failures as “pseudo-patriots” who “count buckets” after predicting defeats. He emphasized that the government's actions are based on international law and will be proven effective in practice.

Additionally, Marinakis confirmed that the electrical interconnection project is proceeding as planned, noting the involvement of a French group in the initiative. He also dismissed Turkey's proposal to create marine parks as a move intended for domestic consumption.
