Pavlos Marinakis reaffirms New Democracy goal of parliamentary majority

Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis has reiterated that the sole objective for the New Democracy party is achieving a parliamentary majority. Speaking in an interview, Marinakis emphasized that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has set a 25% electoral threshold as the minimum acceptable result, noting that anything below this figure would constitute a failure and could lead to the Prime Minister's resignation.

Marinakis explicitly ruled out any post-election cooperation with political parties positioned to the right of New Democracy. He characterized the goal of a majority as realistic, citing current polling estimates that place the party between 30% and 31%.

Additionally, the spokesperson addressed various domestic issues, including the cost of living, tax policy, and student housing, while also critiquing opposition figures such as Alexis Tsipras and questioning the electoral prospects of PASOK.
