Pavlos Polakis alleges conflicts of interest involving George Patoulis

SYRIZA MP Pavlos Polakis has raised serious allegations regarding potential conflicts of interest involving George Patoulis, the former President of the Medical Association of Athens and former Governor of Attica. Polakis questioned how Patoulis could effectively perform regulatory oversight while maintaining business interests in the private aesthetic and regenerative medicine sectors.

Polakis specifically highlighted Patoulis's alleged role as president of OMS Total Care, a company involved in aesthetic and holistic medicine. The lawmaker also pointed to a 2023 conference involving Ioanna Gaka, which featured phlebotomy as a detoxification method; the event was held under the auspices of the Medical Association of Athens and received 8,000 euros in funding from the Attica Region.

Following Polakis's public statements, rapid changes were observed on the website of the medical clinic in question. Patoulis's title was adjusted from president to partner, and sections related to wellness and aesthetic procedures were removed, with the site later stating the clinic operates exclusively as a dental office. George Patoulis has denied these allegations, labeling them as baseless personal attacks and stating he has no corporate or managerial connection to OMS Total Care.
