Pavlos Polakis criticizes Greek Ministry of Health anti-aging proposal

Pavlos Polakis, the Health and Transparency spokesperson for SYRIZA, has criticized the Ministry of Health's proposal to establish a legislative framework for anti-aging and longevity practices. This move follows public controversy surrounding the death of G. Mazonakis.

Polakis argued that the rapid growth of such clinics has occurred illegally due to the removal of regulatory mechanisms. He specifically questioned the legality of a wellness clinic in Kolonaki owned by the spouse of Minister Hatzidakis, claiming it operates without a formal institutional framework.

Polakis called for immediate inspections, closures, and criminal penalties for unauthorized centers offering unverified treatments, such as blood parasite cleansing, rather than focusing on new legislation. He urged doctors participating in the government's committee to resign to maintain professional integrity.
