Pawan Kalyan announces new strategy for Jana Sena in local body polls

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan has outlined a new strategy for the upcoming local body elections. Addressing the Jana Sena Legislature Party, Kalyan indicated that the seat-sharing formula used during the 2024 assembly elections, where JSP contested 21 seats, will not be applied to the forthcoming local polls. Instead, the party intends to adopt a region-specific approach based on local political and social dynamics.

Kalyan directed JSP MLAs to assess the party’s strength outside their own constituencies and identify viable seats for contestation. To facilitate this, a special committee of nine to 11 members, comprising MLAs and senior leaders, will be formed to develop a strategy informed by grassroots feedback.

During the meeting, JSP legislators raised concerns regarding the adherence to coalition dharma and expressed resentment in areas where the party lacks representation. Kalyan acknowledged these concerns and emphasized the need for stability within the NDA alliance. He urged party leaders to maintain discipline and avoid rhetoric that portrays the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as an adversary, noting that while tensions may arise during local campaigns, maintaining alliance unity is a priority.
