Pawan Kalyan launches ₹1,500-cr development projects in Pithapuram

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has launched a series of development projects in the Pithapuram constituency, totaling approximately ₹1,500 crore. The initiatives focus on infrastructure, water security, environmental conservation, and coastal protection.

As part of his tour, the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the Peethikapuravanam urban forest. Developed over six acres at a cost of ₹1.83 crore under the central Nagar Van Yojana, the site was transformed from a former dumping yard into a green space featuring a Miyawaki forest, a butterfly park, and themed gardens such as the Nakshatra Vanam and Shiva Panchayatan Vanam.

Other major infrastructure projects include the renovation of the Nagulapalli Comprehensive Protected Drinking Water Scheme, which serves 97,000 people across 52 villages. Additional planned works include a ₹307 crore multi-village water supply scheme, a ₹200 crore underground drainage system for Pithapuram, and a ₹323 crore coastal protection wall at Uppada. Funding for various components is provided through the Jal Jeevan Mission, AMRUT 2.0, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
