Pawan Singh fined Rs 3,000 by Ballia court over maintenance case
A family court in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, has fined Bhojpuri actor and BJP MLC Pawan Singh Rs 3,000 for failing to attend a scheduled hearing in an ongoing legal dispute with his wife, Jyoti Singh.
The hearing, presided over by Additional Principal Judge Kamalapati Prajapati, concerned an application for interim maintenance filed by Jyoti Singh. Singh’s lawyer, Harivansh Singh, stated that the actor was unable to appear because his mother, Pratima Devi, was unwell, and submitted a medical certificate to the court.
Jyoti Singh, who was present at the hearing, expressed frustration over the legal proceedings, which have been ongoing for approximately four years since the maintenance petition was filed in April 2022. She accused her husband of using his influence to delay the judicial process. The couple married on March 6, 2018.
