Paweł Pawlikowski's Fatherland releases new footage

Imovision and MUBI have released new footage from “Fatherland” (A Terra do Meu Pai), the latest film by director Paweł Pawlikowski. The film, which won Best Director at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, is set to arrive in Brazilian cinemas on October 29.

Set in the summer of 1949 during the Cold War, the story follows Nobel Prize-winning writer Thomas Mann (Hanns Zischler) and his daughter Erika (Sandra Hüller) as they travel through a divided Germany. After 16 years of exile in the United States, Mann must navigate a fractured homeland and personal family ruptures while traveling from American-controlled Frankfurt to Soviet-controlled Weimar.

The production has been selected by Poland to represent the country in the race for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. The cast also includes August Diehl, Devid Striesow, and Anna Madeley.
