Pays Cœur d’Hérault receives Green Destinations Silver certification
The Pays Cœur d’Hérault region has achieved the Silver level of the Green Destinations international certification. This recognition rewards a collective effort toward more sustainable and resilient tourism.
The certification was officially announced by Jean-François Soto, President of Pays Cœur d’Hérault, during a meeting in Gignac. The initiative involved a collaborative process between approximately forty institutional partners, tourism professionals, and journalists, including the three Communautés de communes of Clermontais, Lodévois et Larzac, and Vallée de l’Hérault, as well as local tourism offices and the Grands Sites de France.
The Green Destinations framework evaluates destinations based on 84 criteria across six themes, including destination management, nature and landscape preservation, environment and climate, culture and traditions, socio-economic well-being, and visitor reception.
