Paysandu nears Série C qualification after victory over Ituano

Paysandu has moved closer to qualifying for the second phase of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C following a 1-0 victory against Ituano at the Novelli Júnior stadium. The winning goal was scored by Ítalo in the 43rd minute of the second half. This result brings Paysandu to 29 points, placing them in third position in the standings.

To mathematically secure their spot in the next stage, Paysandu needs to reach 30 points, which can be achieved by earning at least one point in their upcoming match against Maringá. The club's management is also working to increase stadium attendance for the final round, proposing a move to the Mangueirão stadium and offering promotional tickets starting at R$ 10 if a social media follower goal is met.

Coach Júnior Rocha implemented a tactical shift during the match, moving from a 4-3-3 to a 3-4-3 formation to better protect the defense, which had been struggling. This change helped limit Ituano's effectiveness despite the opponent maintaining higher ball possession.
