Paysandu overcomes Confiança with 2-1 comeback victory

Paysandu secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Confiança at the Estádio da Curuzu during the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. Despite missing key players such as Juninho, Radsley, and Matheus Vargas, the team managed to overcome an early deficit after Ícaro scored for the visitors in the 44th minute of the first half.

In the second half, substitutions by coach Junior Rocha revitalized the team. Ítalo Carvalho equalized in the 42nd minute, and Pedro Carrerete scored a header in the 47th minute to complete the turnaround. This win moves Paysandu into the top eight of the standings with 26 points, leaving only three rounds remaining in the first phase.

Following the match, Junior Rocha praised the support of over 12,000 fans, noting that the victory was the team's eighth comeback this season. He addressed the crowd's earlier protests during the match, stating that he understands the fans' right to express dissatisfaction but emphasized the importance of securing the three points.
