Paysandu prepares to host Santa Cruz in Serie C showdown at Curuzu

Paysandu proposed a single‑fan (torcida única) arrangement for its Serie C match against Santa Cruz at the Estádio Banpará Curuzu, but Santa Cruz rejected the offer and demanded the allocation of tickets for its supporters. The game will proceed at the originally scheduled venue on Saturday, the 12th round of the competition.

Historically, Santa Cruz has never won an away match at Curuzu, recording only two draws in nine visits, while Paysandu leads the overall head‑to‑head with 12 wins out of 20 encounters. In the current table, Paysandu sits third with 20 points, whereas Santa Cruz is ninth with 15, both aiming for the top‑8 qualification spots.

Paysandu defender Castro emphasized the importance of the home crowd, saying, “[A Curuzu] faz toda a diferença o fator casa no futebol,” and noted that the team now has extra training time to solidify its push for promotion.
