Paysandu secures loan of defender Lucas Rodrigues from América‑RN for Série C

Brazilian defender Lucas Rodrigues, 24, has joined Paysandu on loan from América‑RN until the end of the 2024 Série C of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The loan runs until the competition concludes, after which Rodrigues will return to América‑RN, where his contract runs through 2027.

Rodrigues, who previously made 55 appearances and scored three goals for América‑RN, announced his temporary move via social media. He arrived in Belém for medical examinations and is expected to bolster Paysandu’s back line as the club pushes for promotion. The move follows his two‑season spell with América‑RN, during which he helped the team win the state championships in 2025 and 2026.
