Paysandu signs Renan Castro to bolster Série C squad

Paysandu has confirmed the signing of 30-year-old left-back Renan Castro to bolster its squad for the decisive Série C quadrangular stage. Castro joins on loan from Guarani until the end of the season and has already been training with the team.

The signing follows requests from coach Júnior Rocha, who identified the need for a left-back and a winger to strengthen the roster for the fight to secure promotion to Série B. Castro brings experience from clubs such as Remo, Amazonas, and Água Santa.

The club is working under tight deadlines, with the Brazilian football transfer window closing on September 11. While the deadline to register new players for the Série C competition is September 4, the club maintains the ability to make substitutions within its registered list of up to eight players until September 25.
