Paysandu Sport Club announces single-slate presidential election

Paysandu Sport Club will hold its presidential election on November 3, featuring only one registered slate, ‘Papão da Curuzu’. Led by current president Márcio Tuma, the slate includes Diego Moura and Ícaro Sereni as vice-presidential candidates.

Despite being the sole candidate, the group will not be acclaimed by default; Tuma must secure 50% plus one of the valid votes to be elected. Approximately 1,450 eligible voters, including lifetime and property-owning members, are expected to participate. The election will also determine members for the Fiscal Council and the Deliberative Council.

Tuma assumed leadership in December 2025 following the resignation of Roger Aguilera. His administration has focused on addressing the club's significant financial challenges, including approximately R$ 16 million in debt. In February 2026, the club filed for judicial recovery to manage these liabilities and prevent bankruptcy.
