Paysend CEO adopts selective AI access strategy
Paysend Group CEO Ben Chisell is implementing a selective approach to artificial intelligence in the workplace, granting access primarily to high-performing employees who can demonstrate tangible business value. Chisell noted that the company has developed AI agents that have improved staff output, estimating that the engineering team could potentially deliver 25% more work with the same headcount.
This cautious strategy contrasts with other major organizations. Lloyds Banking Group has rolled out 40,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, reporting high active usage among license holders. Similarly, Grant Thornton UK planned to provide Anthropic’s Claude to its audit, tax, advisory, and support staff.
Data from a survey of 3,500 UK businesses highlights a discrepancy in AI impact. While 75% of AI-using businesses reported improved workforce productivity, 77% stated that revenue had not changed since adopting the technology. Chisell has argued that while automation should assist employees in transitioning to new roles, humans must retain responsibility for decisions made with AI assistance.
