Payton Talbott knocks out Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 332
Payton Talbott secured a major victory at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City, defeating former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo via first-round TKO at 2:09. Talbott utilized heavy striking and relentless pressure to force the stoppage, improving his professional record to 12-1.
Following the win, Talbott issued a challenge to former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley. Talbott noted that he prefers fighting opponents with a similar body frame and expressed interest in testing his striking skills against O’Malley. He also mentioned that the potential matchup could depend on the outcome of the UFC 333 bout between Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili.
Despite the dominant performance, Talbott did not receive one of the four $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses. UFC CEO Dana White explained that the decision was due to the high volume of first-round finishes on the card, which made the selection process unusually competitive.
