Pazarlar Sports High School wrestling team wins first championship

The Pazarlar Sports High School wrestling team, the only school in Turkey to host an oil wrestling team, achieved its first championship at the 9th Traditional Seyit Onbaşı Oil Wrestling Tournament in Balıkesir.

Formed only three months ago under coach Tugay Altıntaş, the team sent nine wrestlers to the competition. Ali Demircan secured the club's first gold medal by winning the Deste Orta Boy category. Additionally, Efe Değirmenci reached the semi-finals in the Teşvik 2 Boy category, finishing third.

Following the tournament, the team and coaching staff met with Pazarlar Mayor Bilal Demirci to present him with their trophies and medals in appreciation of his support. School Director and Club President Muammer Gökalp stated that the club is working closely with the Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation and aims to participate in the Kırkpınar wrestling tournament next year.
