Pazaryeri Boncuk Bean harvest begins in Bilecik

The harvest season for the registered Pazaryeri Boncuk Bean has commenced in the Pazaryeri district of Bilecik. The crop is grown at an altitude of approximately 810 meters in a cool climate, characterized by its hairless structure, bright outer surface, and unique flavor.

Cultivation covers roughly 1,000 decares of land, with expected yields ranging from 750 kilograms to 1 ton per decare. Total seasonal production is projected to reach between 750 and 1,000 tons. The harvest, which began in August, is expected to continue until mid-October.

Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer visited the fields to meet with local producers and monitor the process. Efforts are also underway to increase the product's brand value, with a geographical indication application currently under review by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
