PB Djarum selects 16 badminton talents for quarantine stage

Sixteen badminton athletes from Sulawesi and Eastern Indonesia have advanced to the quarantine stage of the 2026 PB Djarum General Audition. Following a selection process held from August 4 to 8 at GOR Dafest Makassar, the 16 winners—comprising six tournament winners and 10 selections by the talent scouting team—will proceed to a four-week intensive quarantine in Kudus, Central Java.

The quarantine phase is scheduled from September 14 to October 9, 2026, at GOR Djarum Jati. During this period, athletes must undergo two rounds of elimination to secure a permanent spot in the PB Djarum club. Talent scout leader Sigit Budiarto emphasized that participants must demonstrate discipline, responsibility, and the ability to follow coaching instructions to succeed.

Indonesian badminton legend Liliyana Natsir observed the auditions, noting the promising potential of female athletes, specifically citing their height and striking power. The selection process drew 233 participants from 73 cities and regencies across Indonesia, including regions such as Banten, West Java, North Sumatra, Kalimantan, Maluku, and Papua.
