PB Djarum Badminton Audition Returns to Makassar After Ten Years

The PB Djarum Badminton Audition was held in Makassar, South Sulawesi from 4‑8 August 2026 at GOR Dafest. The event, organized by the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation, attracted 233 young players from 73 cities and regencies across Indonesia, competing in U‑11, KU‑11 and KU‑12 categories for both boys and girls.

Sigit Budiarto, head of the talent‑search team, said the choice of Makassar reflects Sulawesi’s reputation as a strong talent pool for badminton. Participants first faced a knockout screening round (single game to 21 points, court change at 11) before advancing to a best‑of‑three tournament phase. Former doubles champion Richard Mainaky noted that judges assess not only match results but also footwork, technique, fighting spirit and overall effort. The audition aims to identify “super‑talent” athletes to join PB Djarum and eventually compete at national and international levels.
