PB IPSI explores forming Pencak Silat federation in Hong Kong

The Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (PB IPSI) is exploring the establishment of a Pencak Silat federation in Hong Kong. The initiative aims to expand the international development of the martial art by moving beyond community-based activities toward a more structured organization.

Muchamad Nabil Haroen, Vice Chairman of PB IPSI, stated that the goal is to involve local residents in Hong Kong as athletes, coaches, and organizers, rather than limiting the sport to the Indonesian diaspora. This move is part of the ‘Pencak Silat Road to Olympics’ strategy to increase the sport's global reach.

During a meeting at the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Hong Kong, Consul General Andi Ardiansyah expressed full commitment to facilitating and overseeing the formation of the local federation to build a sustainable ecosystem for the sport.
