PB Jatma Aswaja to hold national zikir at Istiqlal Mosque

The PB Jatma Aswaja organization will hold a national remembrance event, including prayers for the nation, national zikir, and a memorial for the founders of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta. Scheduled for August 9, 2026, as part of the 81st Independence Day celebrations, the event is expected to draw more than 50,000 participants.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend, alongside Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, and representatives from the TNI and Polri. The gathering aims to serve as an inclusive spiritual space to strengthen national values, brotherhood, and the integrity of the nation.

To reflect Indonesia's diversity, the event will also include representatives from various faiths, including Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Catholic, and Confucian leaders, emphasizing spirituality as a moral foundation for national harmony.
