Příbram residents prioritize public safety ahead of local elections
As municipal elections approach in Příbram, local residents are highlighting critical urban issues and expressing dissatisfaction with the political landscape. Key concerns raised by citizens include parking, public order, security, and the credibility of long-standing political figures.
A recent community poll identified safety at Náměstí 17. listopadu as the city's most pressing issue, receiving 54 percent of the votes. Residents reported feeling uncomfortable in the square due to the presence of homeless individuals and groups consuming alcohol, which often leads to littering and a sense of insecurity, particularly for parents and the elderly.
Other significant local concerns identified by voters include the long-delayed swimming pool project, which has been under discussion since 2016, and the deteriorating condition of the former municipal forest building near the train station. These issues are expected to serve as primary priorities for the incoming city leadership.
